As many of you know I am expecting my second child July 3rd. Sabine is excited for her little brother but at the same time is a little nervous about having to share Mama and Apa! Teacher Karynn was so nice in giving two books to her today. The first book is called Best Ever Big Sister by Karen Katz. The other books she recieved is called Kite Flying by Grace Lin. Kite Flying doesn't have to do with being a big sister but it is nice to have books that have Asian characters that look kind of like her!
Before bed, Sabine and I read for at least 20 minutes every night. It is a great way to bond with her and get her to love books.
Cool! This reminds me of my childhood in Japan... My mom used to read to me and my sister before bed every night. We mostly read stories that were translated from English to Japanese.

Theodore has a book by Karen Katz, about finding a baby's birthday cake. The pictures are a little strange and my husband and I always say that we feel sorry for the baby in the book because only teddy bears are coming to his birthday party.
